Time and Tide Wait for no Man (or Woman!)

Where does the time fly to?

I'm finding myself contemplating this time and time again . . . we are now in May and almost half way through the year ~ which just makes me want to enjoy every moment of every day and every hour.
So do we actually take stock of ourselves and our lives in this way ~ or do we let the days and weeks go by, until we are suddenly planning Christmas again with another year closing.

2012 is an eventful year, we have the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Para-Olympics throughout the summer ~ so often they say that time flies when we are having fun . . . . so just take some time out during all the fun to be in the moment . . . to simply step back and smile at just being with family and friends . . . to sit in awe of our Golden Olympians ~ no matter what nation they are from . . . and just remember that their moment of glory accumulates from years of hard work, dedication and devotion to their practise.

What a wonderful thing to achieve . . . all are champions . . . yet only 3 get medals . . . all are champions for sure!

Lets just draw upon some of their motivation and belief . . . to achieve the greatest moments . . . and make the most of our lives during 2012!

Reiki Natural Healing Weekend

https://www.facebook.com/events/323495607673796/?context=create#!/events/

Reiki is a Japanese natural form of energy healing and a most amazing treatment to experience.
During a Reiki treatment you might experience all or some of the following ~
  • Heat or warmth in a particular area
  • Colours coming and going (whilst your eyes are closed)
  • Tingling sensations flowing through you
  • Energy twitches of arms or legs as energy blocks clear
  • Deep relaxation and sense of inner peace
  • Body feeling heavy & totally relaxed
  • Feeling of floating sensations or levatation
Your body will naturally draw on what is right for you, whether physically, mentally or emotionally.
A wonderful way to ease tension, stress and let the body un-wind in it's own natural way as your energy flow re-aligns along your meridian lines.

So try it for yourself sometime . . . it was life changing for me!
12 years on I still find it fascinating through working with clients and teaching the natural Usui Reiki method of healing to others.

Mindful Meditation

https://www.facebook.com/This morning on radio 4 there was an interesting discussion on mindful meditation.

So what does mindfulness mean to me?
It is about being present; being in the moment; aware of self and immediate environment; doing things slowly and carefully (mindfully) . . . .  so when you link that with meditation, to me it is a more active meditation than classic forms of traditional meditation, almost as if you try to live your life in a mindful meditative way of being present in all that you do.

Thich Nhat Hanh, author of "The Miracle of Mindfulness" is a world known revered master of Meditation & Mindfulness. He has a retreat community centre called "Plum Village" in SouthWest France where monks, nuns, laymen & laywomen practise mindful living.

Traditional meditation is a pure focus on one point, a withdrawal of the senses, a connection of oneness.
In my yoga classes I encourage a mindfulness of practise in the Asana's (postures), which is very meditative in itself, yet being fully present and aware of the physical, mental and emotional body.

To me, all paths to meditation and 'being mindful' help us to become more peaceful, more at one with ourselves and the world around us.

Peace always begins within!

Get Slim in 2012

Have you ever wondered why you go through a seemingly endless cycle of putting weight on and then losing it after, only to find that each time you put weight on again it seems harder and harder to lose?

Well classic Yo-Yo ing is quite common and it's also bad for your health and your heart ~ as well as making you feel depressed or low when you feel your weight loss is just not working this time!

So maybe 2012 might be the right time for you to get off the cycle wheel and find a level plane for your natural weight to stabilize . . . losing weight at a comfortable, natural rate which is right for your health and well being . . . and also to maintain this path on an on-going basis.
It means a change of mindset and a determination to try something different in terms of changing old habits and eating behaviours into supportive healthy ones . . . and lose weight in the process!
SlimQuest is a very successful model which helps you to do exactly that.
By attending a 6 week programme of 1 hour a week (and doing your homework in-between) you are taught highly effective Hypnosis, NLP and EFT techniques to make those changes in how you eat and behave around food. The course gets you started along your new found weight loss focus, giving you all the tools and techniques which you can continue to use and benefit from forever!

I have found that past students have gained so much more than weight loss from attending the course and following the programme ~ many discover that they feel so much better about themselves, their confidence and self-esteem has grown, and they notice these positive effects flowing into their lives.

The next SlimQuest 6 week course which runs in 2012 in Kettering, Northamptonshire starts on Thursday 2nd February 2012 (7.00pm - 8.00pm).
I book a comfortable and private training room at the Kettering Park & Spa hotel, with small groups of no more than 10 people. The great news is, there are no weigh-ins, just positive support towards successful weight loss.
You can find further details at www.slimquest.co.uk or contact myself (Lori) for pre-course info.
Bookings are direct through SlimQuest or myself, there's no need to wait until 2012, you can start to read through the programme and start working on your starter pack the moment you book!

So, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year knowing that you have decided to change your relationship with food and be a successful slim you!

Organise your Life

Have you got your 2012 diaries out yet?
It's good to plan ahead and get yourself organised in advance, then all you need to do is relax and enjoy your Christmas knowing that all is organised for next year too!
Put any thoughts of putting things off or procrastinating to one side and then you'll find it much easier to do what you need to do.
Never wish your time away and always be ahead of yourself ~ being organised is about creating more space in your head to 'be present' and actually enjoy this moment too!
So stop any spinning plates that maybe spinning over you ~ as it is so rewarding to complete jobs or tasks ~ it's almost like clearing out a cupboard of stuff and feeling that you've achieved so much more than that.
I'm a big believer in Feng Shui and being organised is just part of that clearing out of clutter, so create a good flow of energy.

A good book recommendation to inspire you would be "Clear your Clutter" by Karen Kingston . . .
maybe it will just inspire you for an early in-depth Spring Clean after those Christmas dec's come down in January.

But most of all make time to enjoy just Being!

Best wishes

Mind Body Wellbeing - Hypnotherapy in Northants: Giving is good for you too!

Mind Body Wellbeing - Hypnotherapy in Northants: Giving is good for you too!

Giving is good for you too!

Today is Pudsey's day for Children in Need, supporting a worthy cause.
It's as good for you to give something . . . as it is for those who recieve!

So make yourself feel good & do something that can make a difference to both yourself and others. Even if all you can afford is a pound, it can give you a positive sense of wellbeing and boost your self esteem . . . knowing that it all adds up.
When we care and consider others we walk more peacefully on earth.

Have a great day!

Smile lots and spread the feeling,
Best wishes,
Lori
